Enel is also pushing for renewables in Spain. Endesa, the Spanish subsidiary of the Enel group, has launched Endesa X, the new business which envisages a plan aimed at building 100 charging stations for electric cars in 5 years. The amount of the investment would be 65 million, a figure that makes this project "the most ambitious in Spain", Mediobanca notes.

In detail, as revealed by the Iberian newspaper "elEconomista", the plan establishes the creation of 100 private charging stations and 8.500 public charging stations in the period 2019-2023.

A program, as underlined by the president of Endesa himself, Borja Prado, among the most ambitious for Spanish electric mobility. As for the 8.500 charging stations for public use, these will be installed along motorways, at city entrances and in shopping centres.

According to the plans, 2.000 will be operational as early as 2020, while the other 6.500 will be placed in the following three years, guaranteeing broad coverage of urban areas, the main communication routes and the islands.

Speaking instead of the 100 charging stations for private use, the stations will be located in car parks, residential areas and businesses. Furthermore, the marketing by Endesa X of four business lines is planned, aimed respectively at urban, residential, industrial and mobility areas. All the infrastructures envisaged in the business plan will be connected to the Enel X digital platform, which allows the interoperability and remote control of the charging stations
