Prestigious recognition for Enel, whose 2012 Sustainability Report obtained the highest level of application, A+, of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) international standard.
For the seventh consecutive year, the result rewards Enel's commitment to transparent and accurate reporting of corporate responsibility, in compliance with the GRI guidelines.

Furthermore, this year for the first time Enel's 2012 Sustainability Report was based, anticipating the most advanced trends in Sustainability reporting, on the "materiality analysis", which makes it possible to assess how much the company's strategic positioning is aligned with the expectations of stakeholders with respect to sustainability issues.

In addition, as part of the 'Differentiation Program' of the United Nations Global Compact, Enel's Sustainability Report was recognized again this year with the 'Advanced' level, thanks to the transparency and completeness of its information with respect to the 10 Principles of the Global Compact, which touch on the topics of human rights, labor practices, the environment and anti-corruption.

The GRI represents the most accredited standard of economic, environmental and social sustainability adopted by the most important companies on a global scale. Enel, together with Alcoa, General Electric, Goldmans Sachs, Natura Cosmeticos and Shell, supported the GRI in defining the latest generation of guidelines (G4) for sustainability reporting, presented in Amsterdam last May during the Global Conference on Sustainability Reporting.
