Enel Green Power: revenues up 28,4%, net profit reaches 300 million

Electricity production totaled a 9,3% increase, mainly attributable to the higher installed capacity at an international level and to the effect of the change in the scope of consolidation following the acquisition of Enel Green Power España last March 2010.

Enel Green Power: revenues up 28,4%, net profit reaches 300 million

Enel Green Power closed the first half of 2011 with an increase in revenues of 28,4% compared to the same period last year. The gross operating margin reached 878 million euro (+34,9%), while the operating result rose by 46,3%. The net result amounted to 300 million euros, marking an increase of 18,6% compared to 253 million in the first half of 2010. Net financial debt increased to 3.762 million euros from 3.092 as at 31 December last therefore recorded an increase of 21,7%. Electricity production totaled a 9,3% increase, mainly attributable to the higher installed capacity at international level and to the effect of the change in the scope of consolidation following the acquisition of Enel Green Power España last March 2010. Production of electricity grew in Italy and Europe (+1,5% compared to the first half of 2010), in the Iberia and Latin America area (+25%) and in North America (+14,3%). “We are very satisfied with the result of this first half – commented Francesco Starace, managing director and general manager of Enel Green Power – which confirm the effectiveness of our strategy of technological and geographical diversification. From an operational point of view - he added - as at 30 June we had reached a total installed capacity of 6.372 MVV which, together with all the projects under construction in Italy and around the world, will allow us to easily reach the targets for the year. We are therefore able to confirm all the financial growth targets at the end of 2011, as communicated in March, on the occasion of the presentation of the business plan”.
After the release of the figures relating to the first half of 2011, Enel Green Power put the turbo into action at Piazza Affari where it reached +2,09%.
