Based on the public tender Leilão de Reserve, EGP was awarded the right to sign twenty-year energy sales contracts in Brazil for a total of 553 MW relating to the three new photovoltaic projects of Horizonte MP (103 MW), Lapa (158 MW) and Nova Olinda (292 MW).

The capacity awarded in the tender adds to the company's already operational presence in the country, thus making EGP the main player in the entire solar sector in Brazil, in terms of installed capacity and project portfolio. The result of this tender, which assigned more capacity to EGP than to any other participant, adds up to the 11 MW of Fontes Solar I and II, the largest photovoltaic park in Brazil currently in operation, and a further 254 MW awarded to the company in November last year for the construction of the Ituverava solar plant.

“We are thrilled by the great success of this tender, thanks to which we have become the leading solar company in Brazil – he declared Francesco Venturini, Chief Executive Officer of EGP – 818 MW of overall capacity won in all PV tenders launched to date in Brazil, 700 MW of capacity won in wind tenders and 102 MW won in hydro tenders in the country since 2010 , represent further confirmation of the validity of our growth strategy in Latin America, the strength of which lies in focusing on technologies that are approaching or have already reached grid parity, in the creation of innovative solutions and in synergies with other companies in the Enel Group in the region".

EGP will invest approximately 600 million US dollars for the construction of the three new photovoltaic plants, which will be completed and operational by 2017, in line with the growth objectives envisaged in the Company's current business plan, which envisages the construction of 7,1 .2019 GW of additional capacity worldwide by XNUMX.

The three projects, which will be built in areas with high levels of solar radiation, will generate approximately 1,2 TWh of renewable energy and will help significantly meet Brazil's need for new energy generation. The twenty-year supply contracts awarded to EGP provide for the sale of specific volumes of energy generated by the plants to Camara de Comercializaçao da Energia Elettrica (CCEE).
