Enel Green Power: in the first nine months of 2011 installed capacity shows an increase of +10,3%

The production of electricity showed a growth of 1 Twh (6,3%), mainly due to the greater installed wind power capacity and the wider availability of geothermal plants. It was equal to 9,6 TWh in the Italy and Europe area, marking an increase of 2,1% compared to the first nine months of 2010.

Enel Green Power closed the first nine months of 2011 with a net profit of 363 million, an increase of 3,1% compared to the same period last year. Revenues amounted to 1.859 million euros and marked an increase of 17,6% compared to 2010. Ebitda reached 1.186 million euros, showing an increase of 22,8% compared to the first months of 2010, while Ebit rose by 29,4%. Net financial debt stood at 3.965 million euros, an increase of 28,2% compared to December 31, 2010.

The revenues relating to 2011 include income totaling 181 million euros, deriving "from the division of the assets - highlights a note from the company - belonging to Eufer, from the recognition of compensation for the expropriation of the rights of a plant of a company in North America and the remeasurement at fair value of the assets and liabilities of certain companies in Iberia”.

As of September 30, the net installed capacity of Enel Green Power is equal to 6.490 MW, of which 2.539 MW (39,1%) hydroelectric, 2.981 MW (45,9%) wind, 775 MW (12,0%) geothermal, 67 MW (1,0%) solar and 128 MW (2,0%) represented by other renewable technologies (biomass and cogeneration). Installed capacity increased compared to 30 September 2010 by 606 MW (+10,3%), mainly in wind power (509 MW). The increase was achieved above all in Italy and Europe for 293 MW, of which approximately 72% in the rest of Europe.

The production of electricity showed a growth of 1 Twh (6,3%), mainly due to the greater installed wind power capacity and the wider availability of geothermal plants. Production amounted to 9,6 TWh in the Italy and Europe area (+2,1% compared to the first nine months of 2010), 5,1 TWh in the Iberia area and Latin America (+13,3% compared to first nine months of 2010) and 2,1 TWh in North America (+10,5% compared to the first nine months of 2010).
