Enel Green Power: work has started on 3 wind farms in Brazil

Enel Green Power has announced that it has started work on the construction of three wind farms in Brazil, in the state of Bahia, which will have total installed capacity of approximately 90 MW and therefore capable of producing, once fully operational, approximately 400 GWh per yearthus reducing CO250 emissions by over 2 tonnes.

The total investment by the Italian company is approximately 166 million euros. The three plants have a very high producibility factor, around 45%, a much higher average than the European one. In September 2010, Enel GP was awarded the public tender in Brazil dedicated solely to wind energy for the conclusion of three multi-year contracts for the sale of electricity from new plants, signing a contract through which it obtained the twenty-year right to sell the energy produced by the plants.

Enel's renewables branch thus continues its expansion in South America, especially in Brazil which is among the first countries in the world for the production of renewable energy thanks to approximately 93.000 MW of installed capacity in the sector.

Enel Green Power shares gained 1,22% in the morning to 1,327 euros per share.
