Enel Green Power: agreement with the EIB for a 160 million loan

The contract stipulated with the European Investment Bank will be used to finance part of Enel Green Power's investments in renewables in Italy - The loan has a twenty-year term and will be disbursed by the end of 2012.

Enel Green Power has signed a contract with the European Investment Bank (EIB) which provides for Bei to grant the company a loan for a total amount of 160 million euros, useful for financing the development program in Italy of Enel Green Power activities until 2014. 

This was communicated by the company, in a note which reports how the loan, which will be disbursed by the end of 2012, will have a twenty-year duration: “The overall economic conditions of the loan operation appear to be competitive with respect to the market benchmark.

It is not the first time that the Bei has entered into such an agreement with Enel Green Power. Already in 2010, in fact, the two parties had signed a loan for 440 million euros.

The deal, which fits fully within the company's long-term strategy, it will be used to finance EGP's investments in Italy, for "the production of electricity from renewable sources, through the diffusion of different types of "green" technologies, from solar photovoltaic to wind, from geothermal to hydroelectric".

In the morning, the share of Enel Green Power gained 0,39% on the Stock Exchange, to 1,295 euros per share.
