Enel GP: loan agreement with Ekf for three wind farms in Romania, the USA and Brazil

Enel GP: loan agreement with Ekf for three wind farms in Romania, the USA and Brazil

An agreement in Denmark to fly to Romania, the USA and Brazil. Today Enel Green Power has signed a 180 million euro loan agreement with Ekf, the export credit agency of the Danish government. The agreement was signed by the Italian company through its subsidiary Egpi e it will last 12 years. Citygroup will be “agent” and “arranger”.

Despite the positive news, at the end of the morning Enel Green Power's stock was still in the red by about one and a half points. 

“The loan – Enel Green Power explains – will be used to cover part of the investments for wind farms by Zephir I, in Romania, with an installed capacity of 120 MW, of Caney River, In the USA, of 200 Mw, and of Cristal, in Brazil, from 90 Mw”. The total value of the investments for the construction of the three plants is approximately 670 million euro.

The transaction will have an interest rate in line with the market benchmark. Ekf carries out support activities for Danish component manufacturers, which Enel Green Power uses for the construction of the three wind farms. 

Among these, the Caney River plant in Kansas, together with the Rocky Ridge wind plant in Oklahoma, is also part of a tax equity partnership agreement for about 340 million dollars, signed in December 2011 by the US subsidiary Enel Green Power North America.
