Enel e Terna are confirmed once again as companies at the top of sustainability worldwide. The two companies were confirmed in theFTSE4Good index, which ranks the main companies globally by assessing their environmental, social and governance (ESG) activities, following the second half-yearly review of the index in 2021. Enel's subsidiaries (Endesa, Enel Américas and Enel Chile) also ) have been confirmed in the rankings. 

Specifically, the FTSE4Good index – developed by FTSE Russell – evaluates the performance of companies based on their commitment to incorporate sustainable ESG practices into corporate management, considering over 300 indicators including the climate change, Corporate Governance and respect for human rights. The research also measures the level of exposure of each company to various sustainability issues, taking into consideration criteria such as geographical location, business activities and controversies.

In particular, Enel maintains the highest scores in the criteria relating to biodiversity management, pollution and resources, water security, labor standards, health and safety, human rights, corporate governance, tax transparency and anti-corruption.

For its part, Terna is the seventeenth consecutive year that it is confirmed in the international index. But also among the best 120 companies globally for sustainability practices by the rating agency Esg Vigeo Eiris, part of Moody's Esg Solutions. Since 2012, the year the indices were launched, the company that manages the national transmission grid has been included in the Euronext Vigeo Eiris (VE) World, which includes the best 120 companies globally by ESG performance, and in the Euronext VE Europe regional indices 120 and Eurozone 120, with the 'advanced' rating, the highest level of evaluation.
