Enel, together with Fiat, has obtained the highest recognition for the environmental impact of its activities and for the reduction of climate change. This is what emerges from the Italy 100 report of the Carbon Disclosure Project (Cdp), presented today at the Milan Stock Exchange in collaboration with Monte dei Paschi di Siena.

Among the top XNUMX Italian companies, Enel is indicated as the first utility among the ten companies able to meet the criteria of the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index (Cdli), an index that evaluates the impacts on climate change. The company had already been included, in September, among the top twenty-nine companies in the world in terms of attention to the environment.

In fact, Enel has confirmed its objectives: for 2010 a 10% reduction in total emissions into the atmosphere and a similar decrease in specific water requirements for each kWh produced. In relation to the amount of CO2 emitted into the atmosphere, the goal is a reduction of 7% to be achieved by the end of 2012.

“It is another important result that confirms the group's commitment to pursuing a global strategy of Corporate social responsibility, which takes the form of balancing the governance, social and environmental needs of the business to guarantee the supply of sustainable energy, affordable and accessible”, commented Gianluca Comin, director of external relations at Enel.
