Enel and Cnr sign an agreement for the renewal of the energy sector by studying new ideas

Today the General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of Enel, Fulvio Conti, and the President of the National Research Council, Luigi Nicolais, signed a framework agreement: this new agreement will promote joint initiatives in the field of research and innovation, and will involve both set off. 

The collaboration will focus on issues of common interest to the Cnr and Enel which will concern the use of primary sources, the generation and distribution of electricity up to final uses, in order to promote the correct use of energy. A look will also be given to the identification and analysis of the evolution of technology, research will be promoted and the promotion of "energy culture" in the area will be promoted.

A Management Committee will then be set up, made up of six members. The Committee will have the task of identifying the topics of interest for research, and their lines of implementation.

Conti, Dg and CEO of Enel explained the new project as follows: “Technological innovation is a determining factor for growth in our sector. This agreement consolidates the relationship that has already linked us to the Cnr for many years and further merges our common experiences to help increase the technological level of the country and of our business segment. Enel has always been committed to developing innovative products and systems to produce, distribute and supply energy efficiently and sustainably.  

This agreement confirms the centrality for the Group of the study of technologically advanced solutions".
Cnr and Enel will collaborate on research and innovation of fuels and combustion systems, renewable energy, the development of electric mobility and the smart grid project.
