Enel buys two wind farms in Calabria

Enel Green Power, which already owns 60% of the share capital of Maicor Wind, has acquired the remaining 40% from Plt Energia. This was announced in a joint statement. The renewable energy company of the Enel group thus becomes the sole shareholder of the company that owns, also through the subsidiary Enerlive, two wind farms in Calabria for a total of 64 MW of installed capacity.

The two plants, which have been in operation since 2011, are located in the municipalities of Maida, Cortale (56 MW) and San Floro (8 MW) in the province of Catanzaro. Enel Green Power and Plt Energia, recalls the note, started their partnership in 2009 with the signing of an agreement which included, among other provisions, the put&call option exercised yesterday for the sale of 40% of Maicor Wind. The parties, concludes the note, hope to be able to seize any new opportunities for collaboration or partnership in the future.
