Enel will collaborate in the capture of carbon dioxide in China through a special plant

The scientific briefing between researchers from Italy and China on the criteria for the design, construction and operation of plants with carbon dioxide capture systems ended today in Rome.

The meeting represented an important step in the collaboration program launched with the protocol signed in September 2009 between the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China, the Italian Ministries of the Environment and Economic Development and Enel. In the course of the works, two years after the signing of the agreement, an overview was drawn on the preliminary project for the construction of a CO2 capture plant in the 600 MWe thermoelectric plant of Tongchuan, in the province of Shaanxi, managed by the China-Huaneng operator. The system provides that the captured carbon dioxide can be reused to improve the extraction performance of a nearby oil well.
