Il 5% of Enel is in the pocket of American fund Blackrock. Consob reports it in the mandatory communications on significant shareholdings. The Blackrock fund increased its stake in the Italian energy giant on July 7 and passed the 5% bar to 5,008% of Enel shares. Blackrock's investment in Enel is classified as a "non-discretionary asset management".

In 2011, the American fund was present with a 2,7% stake, which then rose to 3,7% in March 2014. The share of Enel's capital that refers to Blackrock is divided among thirteen subjects.
