Enel: 3 new wind farms in Spain for 128 MW

Enel, through its subsidiary Enel Green Power, will build three wind farms in Spain by investing around 130 million euros. The company communicates it through a note.

Going into details, the overall capacity of the three new plants – located in the province of Teruel (Aragon) – will be 128 MW: 46,8 MW for the Muniesa site, 41,4 MW for the Farlán site, 39,9 MW, for the third in San Pedro de Alacón.

The three wind farms are expected to enter service at the end of 2019 and, when fully operational, will be able to generate 412 GWh per year, avoiding the emission of over 270.000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.

As the company points out, the new plants are part of the 540 MW that Enel Green Power Espana was awarded in the public tender for renewables launched in Spain in May 2017, and are among the 13 wind farms to be developed in the Aragon region, parks awarded in the same auction, for a total capacity of over 380 MW, a total investment of approximately 434 million euro and which will generate over 1.240 GWh per year.

"With the start of construction of the three plants, we are further expanding our presence on the competitive Spanish renewables market and are committed to offering the country the contribution of our global experience and our leadership in sustainability" commented Antonio Cammisecra, head of business Enel's global line for renewable energy, Enel Green Power. “This milestone represents the first of several new EGP developments that will help diversify Spain's energy mix with wind and solar capacity, and help the country meet its renewable energy targets,” concluded Cammisecra.
