Enav, the air traffic control company, has selected industrial partners with whom to develop a new platform for managing drones. It is an industrial group led by Leonardo in partnership with Telespazio and IDS Ingegneria Dei Sistemi. ENAV will have 60% of the newco for the management of services related to drones and the partners will have the remaining 40%.
The goal is "to make traditional air traffic coexist with the needs of the new type of traffic - reads a note from ENAV - allowing the use of drones for a growing number of services, including those of public utility, at the highest levels of safety ”.
The Organization then cites a prospective study conducted by the Sesar Joint Undertaking in the context of the Single European Sky, according to which in 2035 there will be over 7 million drones in the European skies.
