The company confirms the growth of air traffic in Italy higher than the EU average. Paolo Simioni (Ad ENAV): "On some days in October, the flights of 2019 were exceeded"

Enav closes the first nine months of the year with revenues consolidated for 587,6 million euros, stable compared to the same period of 2020, thanks to the increase in revenues from operating activities (by 23,8%) and the reduction in the balance component (24,1%). Positive signals also come from revenues from unregulated market, up 24,6% compared to the first nine months of 2020, to 20,4 million euros.

While the gross operating margin it decreased (-16,4%), going from 175,7 million to 146,8 million euro compared to the first nine months of last year, due to the different regulatory perimeter which changed the calculation of the balance.

As far as the 'net financial debt, at the end of September 2021, was equal to 425,5 million euros, worsening compared to the negative value of 245,1 million at the beginning of the year. Also decliningUseful net which stands at 41,8 million euros (-24,1% compared to the same period of 2020), again due to the effect of the different regulatory perimeter.

The first nine months of 2021 were characterized by a significant resumption of air traffic especially in the summer period. In Italy, the overall result, compared to the corresponding period of 2020, for en route service units, showed an increase of 24,1%, modifying the negative trend of the first half (-16,6%) thanks to the positive performance of third quarter of 2021 which showed growth of 83,1%.

Traffic growth in Italy is higher than the average of the main European countries. In Europe, the average figure for the period January - September 2021 for the States adhering to Eurocontrol was +8,3%: in Germany (-5,2%), Great Britain (-12,9%), Spain (+17,5 .8,1%) and France (+XNUMX%).

Paolo Simioni, Chief Executive Officer of the Company, commented: “Air traffic in Italy is going better than expected. In the summer months we handled between 70 and 80% of the traffic of 2019 with days reaching 100%. The growth trend is constant and, on some days in October, we even exceeded the flights of 2019. The Company is continuing with its strategic investments to modernize the airspace infrastructure and accommodate all traffic increases, always guaranteeing safety, punctuality and quality of the service. Enav is operating successfully on the unregulated market. We have created a commercial model that is totally integrated among all the Group's companies, and this new approach is giving the expected results".
