Enav: traffic, profit and dividend grow in 2019

2020 will inevitably be different, due to the coronavirus which is drastically reducing air traffic in recent weeks, but in the meantime, Enav, the company that manages civil air traffic in Italy, closes 2019 with excellent numbers: en route and terminal traffic in growth of 6,5% and 3,5% respectively compared to 2018; consolidated revenues that exceed 900 million at 902,9 million euros (+1,5%); Consolidated EBITDA at 302,9 million euros (+1,8%); And net profit at 118,3 million euros, up 3,4% compared to the previous year. In addition, EBIT stood at 170,6 million euros, an increase of 3,8% compared to 2018 (EBIT margin equal to 18,9%) and the net financial position returned positive for a good 126,4 million, a marked improvement compared to the loss of 1,9 million euros recorded as at 31 December 2018.

In particular, the company led by Roberta Neri (interviewed a few days ago from FIRSTonline) decided to distribute to the shareholders a dividend of 0,2094 euro per share, up significantly by +4,8%. “2019 – commented the CEO Roberta Neri – confirmed the trend of strong traffic growth already recorded in 2018. Thanks to the planning and implementation of investments in technology and training and thanks to our people, we managed high traffic flows guaranteeing , once again, an excellent service for safety and punctuality. The July acquisition of IDS AirNav represented a key investment in enhancing technological solutions, also opening up the market in countries such as Australia, Argentina and Brazil and others where we were not present”.

"With regard to the Coronavirus emergency – the manager could not help but consider -, we have already set up all the safeguards necessary to protect our personnel and to ensure the operational continuity of the strategic service we carry out. We are also constantly monitoring, in coordination with the institutions, the impacts on traffic deriving from the evolution of the situation, but we believe that it is still early, and the developments still uncertain, albeit highly negative, to be able to formulate a reliable forecast on the implications for ENAV for the 2020. However, we believe that the protection from traffic risk inherent in our regulations, together with the fact that a significant part of our revenues are generated by overflight and non-stop traffic at Italian airports, will be able to partially mitigate the impacts of the current traffic reduction ”.

In addition to the accounts, the company also communicated that, through its subsidiary IDS AirNav, it will supply DSNA, the French air traffic management service provider, with a new system, called SEPIA, for the management of aeronautical information. The two parties have signed a four-year contract for implementation and another 4 years for maintenance. The total value of the transaction is equal to 15 million euro.
