Enav buys air traffic software company

The National Authority for Flight Assistance (Enav), the company that manages civil air traffic in Italy, has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of the Air Navigation division of Engineering Systems (IDS).

The company branch object of the operation deals with the creation of software to manage aeronautical information and air traffic.

Ids is one of the main suppliers of some ATM products and services worldwide, with over 100 customers, including Enav, distributed in Italy, Europe and non-European countries.

The Air Navigation division has its headquarters in Italy, while the foreign offices are mainly located in Canada and Australia.

Based on preliminary estimates for 2018, the Air Navigation division of IDS produced revenues of 24 million euros, with an expected EBITDA margin in line with that of the ENAV Group.
