Ema, Germany: "Milan is an excellent location"

Milan seems to be the favorite city to host the new headquarters of the European Medicines Agency: the German Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sigmar Gabriel: "Milan has a good chance of being chosen" - The decision will be made on 20 November.

The EMA seems to be getting closer and closer to Milan. The EU General Affairs Council will meet on 20 November with the aim of deciding on the new headquarters of the European Medicines Agency (European Medicines Agency) and of the EBA, the Community banking authority, which will leave London due to Brexit.

The Milanese capital has long since presented its candidacy to host the premiere and does not seem to have any intention of letting such an important opportunity slip away.

A half-endorsement from Germany also arrived today which bodes well. German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel, answering a question at the end of a meeting at the Farnesina with his Italian counterpart Angelino Alfano, stated that his first choice during the vote will be Bonn, a candidate city from Germany. But in the second vote, although Berlin has not yet made a definitive decision, Minister Gabriel declares he is certain that Milan has the right cards: "I am convinced that in the second round of voting Milan could have a good chance of being chosen as the seat of the new EMA" .

According to the provisions, to become EMA and EBA headquarters, the candidate cities must obtain at least three votes from 14 out of 27 countries. Otherwise, the three cities with the most votes will have access to a second vote, in which the countries will be entitled to one vote each. Whoever gets to 14 votes out of 27 wins. Germany is considered a clear favorite for the assignment of the EBA in Frankfurt, while Milan could have a good chance for the EMA.
