The right wins hands down both in Lombardy and in Lazio, where Attilio Fontana and Francesco Roll they should even exceed the absolute majority of votes. This is what emerges from first exit polls made by Swg and broadcast by Tg La7 and by Opinio Italia for Rai immediately after the polls close.
Attilio Fontana and Francesco Rocca they are therefore the presidents of the Lazio and Lombardy regions, confirming the positive trail of the centre-right, which began with the national teams of 25 September. It will now be interesting to see what the balance of power will be between the parties belonging to the majority coalition, especially after the latest, absurd, sortie by Silvio Berlusconi on Zelensky and the Ukraine.
Fontana wins in Lombardy, Rocca in Lazio
According to the first trends of SWG, the outgoing president and center-right candidate is in Lombardy Attilio Fontana would have exceeded 50% of preferences, with the centre-left candidate Pierfrancesco Majorino around 35, and the Third Pole candidate Letizia Moratti would be close to 10%. The percentages of the first Consorzio Opinio Italia exit polls for Rai are also similar, giving Fontana at 49,5-53,5%, Majorino at 33-37% and Letizia Moratti at 9,5-13,5%.
"Lazio changes hands, until now governed by the Democratic Party with its former secretary Nicola Zingaretti. Here, the centre-right's victory could be even more overwhelming with Francesco Rocca between 50,5 and 54,5%, Alessio D'Amato at 30-34%, while the M5S candidate Donatella Bianchi would be between 10,5- 14,5%.
Swooping turnout
Although there are still no definitive results, it is clear however how to win hands down this electoral round abstention, which in both regions could even exceed 60%. At 23pm on Sunday, only 29,7% of voters had gone to the polls, less than half compared to the 2018 elections, when however they voted in a single day.
