REGIONAL ELECTIONS - Grillo: "No to messing up with the left"

The leader of the 5 Star Movement attacks Renzi and rejects the hypothesis of an alliance with the left: “The mess-ups do not belong to us” – Salvini celebrates: “We are the real alternative to Renzi. We can rebuild the center-right around me” – Brunetta also attacks the premier.

REGIONAL ELECTIONS - Grillo: "No to messing up with the left"

The result of the regional elections is open to various interpretations, with a single common denominator, at least for those who are not under the aegis of the Democratic Party: the defeat of Matteo Renzi, despite the fact that the Democratic Party has conquered 5 Regions out of 7. The first interpretation is that of Beppe Grillo who, despite the fact that the 5 Star Movement will not govern any region at stake, sincerely thanks the electorate "who attributed the first party role in the M5S in Liguria, Campania and Puglia and second in other regions”.

Grillo wanted to clarify that he did not want to make any "alliance with the left, the mess-ups don't belong to us", before going on to attack the premier: "Renzi halved the votes of the European ones. You don't run a country with lies and arrogance. The next thanksgiving will be to the policies with the Pd's turkey in the oven ”.

According to the Deputy Speaker of the House Luigi DiMaio (M5S), the result of the regional elections represents “a signal to the Prime Minister: the citizen's income must be made. We don't want seats, we want basic income before the summer”.

Salvini, the secretary of the League, also celebrates, according to which “The true alternative to Renzi we are nothe". Strengthened by the results obtained by the League, which triumphed in Veneto and reported a great result in Liguria, Salvini takes over the center-right ("I am the leader. Berlusconi knows how to read the numbers") and opens up to possible alliances with Forza Italia, but not with Alfano: "With those who are with Renzi, no alliance is possible".

Also for Salvini the loser is Renzi: "I hope Renzi takes note that his policy has been rejected: if this is not some warning sign for the 'messiah' Renzi".

Renato thinks so too Brunetta, the group leader of Forza Italia in the Chamber: "Paita and Moretti paved, De Luca if confirmed is certainly not a Renzi candidate, Emiliano is not either, on the contrary he will be Renzi's antagonist".

The real concern of the group leader of Fi in the Chamber is that of the dispersion of moderate votes. A haemorrhage that can be stopped is if Forza Italia manages "to relaunch our political message, less taxes, we can bring our moderate electorate back to the vote". No hint of self-criticism, however, on the fact that Forza Italia's votes have collapsed and that Berlusconi's party has dropped to fourth place, behind Pd, Grillo and Lega.
