Elections, the team of the "stayed out"

From the former Speaker of the Chamber, Gianfranco Fini, to the former minister and leader of the IDV, Antonio Di Pietro, passing through the former number one of the Senate, Franco Marini: the list of "excellent names" left out of the Parliament after the last general election.

Elections, the team of the "stayed out"

From untouchables to defenestrated in less than 48 hours. Among the most notable consequences of the last political elections is the exclusion from Parliament of people who have occupied the benches of the Chamber and Senate for years, sometimes decades. With an inelegant but effective term, they can be defined as a small team of excellent "trumpeted" (as we read in a tweet that started by mistake from Palazzo Chigi...).

The captain of the formation can only be Gianna Fini, remained outside the same Chamber of which he was president during the last legislature, the eighth of his political career. Yes, because Almirante's former protégé – as well as vice president of the Council and foreign minister in the second Berlusconi government – entered Parliament for the first time back in 1983. This time, however, his party, Fli, did not exceed 0,46, XNUMX% in Montecitorio.

The former prosecutor's career in the chamber is less durable Antonio Di Pietro, which like that of the opponent Fini broke on the wall of the grillini. Minister of Public Works first and then of Infrastructures (respectively in the first and second Prodi government), the former IDV leader didn't make it. The dissolution of his party and his enrollment in the lists of Antonio Ingroia's "civil revolution" did not help the cause.

The team trident completes with Franco Marini, former president of the Senate, former secretary of the CISL. After being one of the founders of the Democratic Party, in the last consultations he was a candidate in Abruzzo, but was excluded from the Senate. Not even Roberto Rao (Udc), a close collaborator of Pier Ferdinando Casini, enters Palazzo Madama. Also excluded are Mario Sechi, former editor of Tempo, candidate for Civic Choice in Sardinia, and Enzo Moavero, outgoing minister of European affairs, candidate with the Monti List.

Instead, drawing from the center-right, the team of excellent trumpeters is enriched by Guido Crosetto (one of the founders of the Brothers of Italy, who has remained out of the Senate) and Gianfranco Miccichè (leader of the Great South, excluded from the Chamber).

The most illustrious of the "saved" is certainly Pier Ferdinando Casini, elected on the wire to the Senate. Thus begins the 31st year in Parliament for him.
