European elections, the prospects of anti-European parties

Among the main countries of the continent, Italy is the bronze medalist in the classification of anti-European movements. According to an online survey conducted by Ipsos European Pulse in view of the European elections in May, in our country the share of the electorate virtually "very convinced" of the possible affirmation of the political line hostile to Brussels is equal to 11%, lower only than those of Sweden (13%) and Holland (12%).

The percentage of those who say they are "rather convinced" is more contained, equal to 35%, a much lower figure than those of Sweden (47%), Great Britain (46%) and Holland (45%, even if, obviously , it should be noted that Sweden and Great Britain are not part of the Eurozone). Immediately after Italy - but at a certain distance - France and Germany are positioned, respectively with 7 and 5% of "very convinced" and 30 and 31% of "rather convinced".

As for the people who say they are "rather skeptical" with respect to the chances of victory of the anti-European movements, in our country they reach 41%, against 13% of those who say they are "very sceptical". The countries where the enemies of Brussels meet the greatest opposition are Hungary and Spain, which respectively have 51 and 48% of "rather skeptical" and both 20% of "very skeptics".

The survey was conducted between 4 and 16 February on a sample of 8 thousand citizens distributed in 10 countries.
