In the round involving 563 Italian municipalities including Rome, at 22pm on Sunday evening less than half of those entitled voted – Record negative turnout especially in the capital: less than 38% of those entitled to vote at the polls, in 2008 they were 57% – Voting ends at 15pm today.

Record abstention in this round of administrative elections, which affects 563 municipalities including Rome. At 22pm yesterday, reports the Viminale, not even half of those eligible went to the polls: 44,66% to be exact. A drop of over 15 points (-15,34%) compared to the previous consultations. Polls open today, voting until 15pm.

There was a clear drop in turnout especially in the municipal elections in Rome: at 22pm on Sunday evening - reports the Interior Ministry - just 37,69% of eligible voters voted, a good 19,5% less than in 2008 when voters at the end of the first day they were 57,20%. Voting ends at 15pm today.
