Electricity: consumption rises again in September

TERNA DATA – For the first time after 24 months, electricity demand recorded a positive figure in September (+0,4%), even if the figure corrected for calendar effects remained in negative territory (-0,2 %) – In the first nine months of 2014, demand decreased by 3,0% on an annual basis.

After two years of continuous decline, in September the demand for electricity in Italy recorded an increase on an annual basis (+0,4%), even if the figure corrected for calendar effects remained in negative territory (-0,2. 0,2%, because this year there was an extra working day). The seasonally adjusted figure on a monthly basis is also in red: -26,2%. Terna communicated it today, specifying that last month the electricity required in our country amounted to XNUMX billion kWh.

The territorial distribution of demand, as always, was not homogeneous at all: 45,9% arrived from the North, 30,2% from the Center and 23,9% from the South. In terms of variation, the September figure it was positive in the North (+0,4%) and in the South (+0,8%), while a new decline was recorded in the Center (-0,3%).

“The trend profile becomes stationary – the company that manages the distribution of electricity wrote in the note -. In the first nine months of 2014, demand decreased by 3,0% compared to the values ​​of the corresponding period of 2013; with the same calendar, the value is equal to -2,9%”.
