Future Electricity: Agostino Re Rebaudengo president

The president and founder of Asja Ambiente, a pioneer of renewables in Italy, arrives at the top of the association of electricity producers

Future Electricity: Agostino Re Rebaudengo president

Elettricità Futura, the association of electricity producers, has a new president. It is Agostino Re Rebaudengo, a real pioneer of renewables in Italy, who takes the place of Simone Mori, top manager of Enel. The appointment was in the air but it still has a symbolic meaning and ratifies the energy transformation also at the top of the Confindustria association. Certainly, in fact, the transition to green electricity was a powerful turning point given to Enel by the CEO Francesco Starace but now the association of electricians is led by a president born and raised with green energy and this too is a sign of the times (after the green companies merged into what was once the Assoelettrica which represented the thermoelectric producers).

Who is the new president of Elettricità Futura? Re Rebaudengo from Turin holds a degree in Economics and Commerce and completed his studies in the United States at UCLA in Los Angeles and at the Harvard Business School in Boston. He is a freelance journalist and in 1995 he founded Asja Environment Italy. The company of which he is president and shareholder celebrates its 25th anniversary this year and operates internationally, with offices in China and South America, in the production of electricity from renewable sources and in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions .

King Rebaudengo was president of assoRinnovabili from 2011 to 2017, the most important Italian association of renewable energy producers which on 28 April 2017 then merged with Assoelettrica, giving life to Elettricità Futura. And he is a member of the General Council of Confindustria. Among the positions held there is also that of president of the permanent theater of Turin from '96 to 2007 and is still involved in non-profit organizations including the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation for contemporary art, of which he is co-founder and vice president . Since 2019 he has been a professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the Biomedical Campus in Rome.
