Energy efficiency, agreement between Hera and Emilian builders

Ance Bologna, Ance Ferrara, Ance Modena and Hera Servizi Energia will jointly promote initiatives to raise awareness of energy saving in homes.

Energy efficiency, agreement between Hera and Emilian builders

Ance Bologna, Ance Ferrara, Ance Modena and Hera Servizi Energia, the energy service company of reference for the industrial sector of the Hera Group, have signed an agreement aimed at promoting and making citizens and condominiums aware of issues related toenergy efficiency in existing buildings.

The agreement was signed on 13 May by the Chairman of Ance Bologna, Giancarlo Raggi, by the Chairman of Ance Ferrara, Adriano Paltrinieri, by the Chairman of Ance Modena, Sandro Grisendi, and by the Chairman of Hera Servizi Energia, Stefano Lappi.

The objective of the agreement is to promote the creation, in the territories of Bologna, Ferrara and Modena, of redevelopment and energy efficiency interventions in homes, intervening on the building envelope and on the systems of the condominium buildings to guarantee energy efficiency through thermal insulation and the renewal of the systems.

These interventions lead to a reduction in heating costs for the real estate units and an overall improvement in energy performance with a consequent increase in the market value of the property. Not to mention the environmental benefits, given that lower consumption also corresponds to lower CO2 emissions: it is estimated that, following an energy efficiency intervention involving both the systems and the building envelope, it is possible to reduce a share between 30 and 55% of consumption, costs and emissions.

This awareness, together with the fact that the Italian real estate assets are mostly dated and not very efficient from an energy point of view, is the premise of the agreement which responds to the need to promote activities based on the maximum valorisation of energy and theenergy efficiency in consumption, in line with the expectations for sustainable development for the benefit of property owners, territories and the environment.

Ance Bologna, Ance Ferrara, Ance Modena and Hera Servizi Energia aim to promote the implementation of energy requalification interventions both among individual citizens and among condominium administrators. The companies adhering to the local associations will guarantee the state-of-the-art execution of the works also through participation in training events organized for the entrepreneurs, technicians and workers of the construction school companies of the various areas.

Hera Servizi Energia will be able to promote and implement energy efficiency measures relating to plants for heating, cooling, the use of renewable energies.

Thanks to the measures introduced by the budget law, with particular reference to tax deductions for energy saving measures, the main incentive envisaged in the agreement consists in the possibility for Hera Servizi Energia to evaluate and acquire, on the basis of the legislation and the indications of the Revenue Agency, the tax credit that the individual condominium will be able to claim against the tax authorities, after having chosen to carry out energy efficiency measures, thus allowing the recovery of a large part of the tax deduction immediately, instead of in the 10 years foreseen by current legislation.

Also, to the tax incentives provided by the state it will be possible to combine the volumetric/urban planning incentives introduced by the municipal administrations to ensure that the energy requalification of existing buildings can be achieved with low costs for individual citizens. The Municipalities of Bologna and Casalecchio di Reno have already operated on this road.

“Energy efficiency is one of the axes on which the circular economy model rests on which the Hera Group has been committed to for some time now, tackling the issue of an all-round efficient use of resources – states Stefano Lappi, Chairman of Hera Servizi Energia. As energy service company, we operate in support of public and private bodies and organizations, strengthened by a wide and high quality range of services. We are pleased with the successful outcome of this agreement, which will allow us to consolidate our role as promoters of the energy and environmental transition that our country is experiencing".
