Ef Solare Italia: conference on the future of photovoltaics

Implement the generation of electricity from renewable sources, while simultaneously reducing CO2 emissions. These are the cornerstones of the energy strategies of many countries, including Italy, but also the central theme of the annual EF Solare Italia conference held today at the GSE Auditorium in Rome.

“Photovoltaic: the future is still growth” was the title of the event during which some numbers were also provided: “in 2017, installations of new photovoltaic capacity with 99 GW globally exceeded those from conventional sources for the first time (84 GW), a growth set to continue in the near future, reaching 1 TW of total global installed capacity in 2022 according to a median scenario,” explains the company.

It is therefore impossible for a company active in the photovoltaic sector not to address topics such as the electricity market, digitalisation, storage, upgrading of existing plants, new plants in grid parity and internationalisation.

Diego Percopo, CEO of EF Solare Italia, illustrated the company's vision: "We are convinced that in order to achieve the objectives set for photovoltaics at national and European level, the presence on the market of industrial operators capable of conducting their activities with a portfolio logic. We at EF Solare Italia want to be an aggregator and technological leader, a driving force for the development of the entire sector thanks to the skills put in place every day by our team. Our dimensional growth continues: we recently acquired six new plants located in the provinces of Bari and Lecce, with a total power of 14 MW".
