Sensitize families on active, digital and financial citizenship. This is the objective of the new cycle of meetings organized by Intesa Sanpaolo Savings Museum in collaboration with the MOIGE – Movimento Italiano Parenti ONLUS.
A cycle of six informative online meetings is scheduled, always at 18 from the 9 November 2021 to the 9 May 2022, which will involve experts and professionals in the sector who will deal with different topics in a simple but effective way.
According to research, 92% of parents would like thefinancial education been taught since elementary school. The Museum of Savings shares the need to teach the notions of savings from an early age which, since its opening in 2012, has chosen educational entertainment as a means to stimulate the active participation of visitors and to increase their familiarity with concepts that they are the basis of conscious money management, learning to plan for the long term.
“Good or bad financial management is often based on psychological and cultural conditioning, which must be addressed with an educational process. These meetings have the aim of addressing fundamental issues with adults for the growth and development of the new generations and we are happy that an important reality like MOIGE is at our side.”, he declared Jeanne Paladin, Director and curator of the Savings Museum.
Antonio Affinity, Director General of Moige, underlined how "training in conscious use of the web, which also includes financial education for a safe, responsible digital citizenship, and in particular of social networks, cannot disregard the synergistic work between parents, institutions and operators, for the protection of our children, we are in this challenge.”
PROGRAM AND CONTENTS OF THE MEETINGS
Tuesday 9 November 2021 - Covid and the use of technology: how are our kids. During the meeting, an overview of the emotional context that the boys are facing will be provided with the presentation of concrete actions to help them face this moment. The meeting will also be an opportunity to present the subsequent appointments of the cycle, dedicated to how to develop the active citizenship skills of children and young people.
Monday 13 December 2021 - How to talk to children about money: a small guide to financial education and digital support tools. The meeting introduces parents to the importance of passing on the first concepts of financial education to their children from childhood, dispelling the myth that "money is for adults" and accustoming children and young people to relate to money with serenity and awareness. Digital resources and tools available to talk about it with children, but also to learn, will also be presented.
Monday 10 January 2022 – Gaming and edutainment: the new frontiers of learning and online gaming. The principles of economic citizenship, like mathematics and history, should be taught from an early age. Edutainment and games, including digital ones, can be effective means of enhancing the learning and involvement of children and adults.
Wednesday 9 March 2022 – Gender bias and children: how to avoid gender discrimination in education for economic and digital citizenship. Unconscious prejudices, often due to stereotypes, can sometimes and involuntarily lead parents to adopt different attitudes between sons and daughters. During the meeting, we will talk about how to identify involuntary discriminatory attitudes and guidelines will be proposed to avoid falling into the gender bias trap with children in active citizenship education.
Monday 11 April 2022 – Cybersecurity: Digital payments and watch out for criminals. Other Cyber Risks and Fake news: what they are and how to protect yourself. Due to the health emergency we have spent much more time on the computer, tablet and smartphone. As a result, online fraud crimes have increased considerably, and this has also put us in front of a great IT risk. During the meeting we will talk about digital payments and how to recognize scams and risks, including through an entertaining quiz.
Monday 9 May 2022 - Bullying and Cyberbullying: preventing the phenomena and how to recognize the signs. Fundamental principles and guidelines to support parents in introducing their children to the world of the web: social media management, the phenomenon of cyberbullying, and how to manage it.
