Digital financial education: Global Thinking Foundation launches FamilyMI

Global Thinking Foundation lancia FamilyMI, an online portal created with the aim of offering concrete support to the need to strengthen financial education, by filling the gaps of an economic, financial and social security nature.

Made in collaboration with FEduF, the Foundation for Financial Education and Savings of ABI, and with the Polytechnic Foundation of Milan , Cariplo Foundation, FamilyMI offers the user 25 training video pills, created by METID - Politecnico di Milano, and 5 testimonial video pills that introduce the topics on which an online questionnaire is developed.

The path, with free access and use, is divided into seven thematic macro-areas, ranging from the basic concepts of the economy, to the characteristics of financial products and supplementary solutions for social security.

Based on the answers provided, the user is sent back to one or more of the training video pills, to review the concepts, where his answers are found to be incorrect.

The digital path is accompanied by a planning of face-to-face meetings on the territory: the first events in the experimental phase were held with students and teachers in Milan. Others will follow, extended to all of Italy, starting from September.

Claudia Segre, President of the Global Thinking Foundation, expresses “great satisfaction with a tool that is easy and quick to use, as required by today's times and needs, but nonetheless useful, educational and functional. Furthermore” – continues Segre – “the 5 testimonial video pills show how the daily life of two young sisters is unexpectedly an opportunity for discussion on economic-financial issues. In this sense, ours represents the first popular sit-com experiment that talks about financial education for families”.
