Edison Innovation Week: digital challenges for citizens and businesses

From 7 to 10 June, in via Foro Bonaparte 31 in Milan, the Edison Innovation Week 2016 will be held, in the context of which issues concerning the changes of the present and the challenges for the future will be addressed: from the sharing economy to the internet of things, passing through the energy of the future and the smart home.

Digital has revolutionized and continues to revolutionize the world. According to calculations by experts, the digital economy will contribute 4 trillion dollars to the GDP of the 20 most industrialized countries in the world, with tangible changes inherent not only in administration and work, but also and above all in everyday life. A real transformation of the population is taking place. From citizens we are becoming more and more consumers and from consumers producers.

Energy is one of the aspects which, thanks to a strong connection with the digital world, is helping to overturn roles. One example above all is Edison, the first company to build a thermoelectric plant in Continental Europe.

This and much more will be discussed in Milan from 7 to 10 June as part of the Innovation Week 2016. Four days in which forty experts including scientists, entrepreneurs and inventors will speak on the fundamental themes of the last period: from the sharing economy to Internet of things, passing through the energy of the future and the smart home.

Many guests who will take turns on the stage of the Edison Headquarters in via Foro Bonaparte 31: the managing director of Edison Marc Benayon, Luigi Nicolais (president of the Cotec Foundation) who will present the Cotec-Censis report, Giorgio De Rita (general secretary of Censis) and many others.

The central topics of Wednesday 8 June will be industrial robotics and innovation in craftsmanship, while Thursday 9 June will be the moment of Space with Giovanni Bignami.
