Edison: contract for LNG in the USA

The company has signed a contract with Venture Global for the sale of 1 million tons of liquefied natural gas

Edison and Venture Global Calcasieu Pass (Venture Global) have signed an agreement for the purchase and sale of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), which provides for Edison to purchase 1 million tons of LNG per year (equivalent to approximately 1,4. 20 billion cubic meters of natural gas) from the Calcasieu Pass plant, which Venture Global is developing in Cameron Parish, Louisiana, USA. This was announced by Edison itself with a press release which states that "by virtue of the agreement, Edison will purchase the gas on a FOB (free on board) basis for 2021 years, starting from the entry into commercial operation of the Calcasieu Pass plant currently scheduled for XNUMX”.  

This agreement, continues the energy company, "will contribute to the competitiveness and diversification of Edison's gas procurement portfolio, further improving the company's ability to respond to the needs of its customers".
