Edison, A2A ready to take over Edipower

Vice President Bifulco: "We will evaluate in the supervisory board of 28 September" - The agreement drawn up in March with the French EDF, whose managing director will meet with Minister Romani next week, also remains on the table.

Edison, A2A ready to take over Edipower

There are two proposals on A2A's table to arrive at the reorganization of Edison. In addition to the agreement reached in March for the possible passage of the Italian company into the hands of the French EDF, the hypothesis of taking over Edipower, currently 2% owned by Edison, is making its way among A50A managers.

“Two hypotheses have been presented and will remain so until the 28th, when the supervisory board will meet again and will have to deliberate. In the meantime, let's go deeper." These are the words of Rosario Bifulco, vice president of the supervisory board of A2A, at the end of the management and supervisory boards of the company.

The hypotheses were presented “by the general manager Renato Ravanelli and by the chairman of the CDG Giuliano Zuccoli – added Bifulco – on the one hand there is that of March and on the other the one with all-Italian Edipower. These two proposals have been analyzed in numbers and gutted, now we have clear what the scenarios are. These days are used to reflect, we have not yet deliberated, with Edf there is no negotiation already open”. In any case, the paths taken into consideration do not envisage the involvement of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti or Acea.

The meeting between the Minister of Economic Development Paolo Romani and EDF number one Henri Proglio, initially scheduled for yesterday and then postponed to early next week, could at this point be held after the next A2A supervisory board meeting, scheduled for on 28 September.
