The final vote on the decree law on energy efficiency and fiscal measures is underway. The Senate has already accepted the amendments for the extension of the incentives to household appliances, boilers and air conditioners.

Ecobonus: final rush in the Senate for appliances, boilers and air conditioners

The examination of the decree on eco-bonuses has begun in the Senate floor, which after a specific extension now also concerns household appliances purchased as part of building renovations.

The accepted amendments grant for the latter tax relief of 50% up to a maximum limit of 10.000 euros, an amount which in the current wording should no longer be deducted from the maximum deduction of 96.000 euros envisaged for renovation works. Moreover, the definitive text no longer seems to limit the discount to only built-in appliances, but allows them for the category of "large appliances", while respecting the previous energy efficiency constraints.

The extension of the eco-bonus to 65% is also on the way for boilers and heat pumps, expressly excluded in the initial text of the decree. "Using funds from the Ministry of Economic Development it was possible to find resources that will allow us to support an important sector, thus contributing to giving decisive support to Made in Italy" said Simona Vicari, Undersecretary for Economic Development.

The Senate Chamber has also unanimously approved an agenda which commits the Government to evaluate the possibility of avoiding the increase in VAT from 4 to 21% for supplementary supports for school books. The increase is provided, as a cover, by the ecobonus decree.
The Chamber also accepted the measure, already approved by the Commission, which raises the VAT on products from food and drink vending machines from 4% to 10% and no longer to 21%.
