Ecobonus: bookings for electric and hybrid motorcycles are underway

The Italian market for ecological motorcycles is accelerating: the platform will reopen for dealers from 10am on Thursday 13 January 2022 ecobonus.mise.gov.it to book the incentives intended for the purchase of mopeds e electric motorcycles or hybrids.

Unlike motorists, motorcyclists intending to buy a zero-emission two-wheeler will also be able to count on the Ministry's incentives for 2022. There Budget Law 2021 extended the incentive until 2026 with a total allocation of 150 million euros, equal to 20 million for each year from 2021 to 2023 and 30 million for each of the years from 2024 to 2026.

Who is it for? For those who purchase a brand new electric or hybrid vehicle of categories L1e, L2e, L3e, L4e, L5e, L6e, L7e, it will be calculated on the percentage of the purchase price: without scrapping, the discount is equal to 30% of the price of purchase, up to a maximum of 3.000 (VAT included); with scrapping, on the other hand, it reaches 40%, up to a maximum of 4.000 euros but the scrapped vehicle must belong to category L and be approved in classes up to Euro 3.

How it applies? the contribution is recognized directly by the resellers. Anyone who buys an ecological moped or motorcycle just needs to go to the dealership and the seller will have to register on the Ministry platform and book it. Thus, the dealership will be able to recognize the incentive to the buyer by obtaining reimbursement from the manufacturer: it will be the latter that will have to recover the amount paid for the bonus in the form of a tax credit.
