Ecobonus 110%, Intesa: "Ready to buy tax credit"

Unicredit also announces that, as soon as the regulatory framework of the relaunch decree is defined, they will acquire the tax credit for 110% of taxpayers both directly and through the transfer to companies

Ecobonus 110%, Intesa: "Ready to buy tax credit"

Ecobonus at 110%, word to the banks. With two notes released today, 15 July, first Intesa Sanpaolo then Unicredit, they say they are ready to make "modular and flexible financial solutions available to individuals, condominiums and companies of all sizes, which will allow them to benefit from the rules introduced by the Relaunch Decree on the raising to 110% the deduction for expenses relating to energy efficiency measures and seismic risk reduction".

The rule, we recall, provides that all taxpayers (not only the incompetent, as previously envisaged) who carry out certain types of construction works can count on one tax deduction of 110% thus reducing their taxes over the next 5 years. Not only that, the new rules establish that taxpayers have the possibility of transferring the credit corresponding to the eco-bonus to the banks or companies that carry out the works. Finally, if customers opt for the discount on the invoice, the company responsible for the renovation works can, in turn, assign the credit to banks and third parties for an unlimited number of times.

In this context, Intesa undertakes to acquire the tax credit from taxpayers "both directly and through transfer to companies", specifies the bank, and to propose financing solutions which "will support the period between the start of the works and the realization of the credit itself". The aim is to give back to the system the liquidity necessary to support the energy efficiency and renovation works in a sustainable key, maintaining a sector, the construction one, which is worth 18% of the GDP, and consequently all the SMEs operating in the compartment.

Unicredit instead, he explains that the initiatives dedicated to customers interested in taking advantage of Ecobonus and Sismabonus will be divided into two main methods:

  • It could be the condominiums or the owners of the properties who ask the bank to take advantage of the tax bonus: the customer can therefore transfer the tax credits to the bank, activating a credit line or a dedicated loan while waiting for these credits to mature. In this case, the equivalent value of the tax credit sale will allow the direct extinction of the line granted.
  • Another option will allow condominiums and property owners to obtain a discount on the invoice from the construction company that carries out the work. In this case, companies will be able to contact UniCredit requesting the assignment of future credits, activating a dedicated credit line that will close when the tax credits accrue.

In both cases, the purchase of the tax credit will start when the regulatory framework of the relaunch decree will be defined and the implementing decrees will be issued.

Stephen Barrese, head of the Banca dei Territori division of Intesa Sanpaolo, said: “Our customers can count on our support, right from the start of the restructuring works, thanks to the monetization of the tax credit, through the transfer of the credit. A measure that reaffirms our role as an impact bank in support of the country's economic fabric."

Mauro Micillo, head of the Corporate and Investment Banking Division of Intesa Sanpaolo and Chief Executive Officer of Banca IMI, stated: “The initiative makes it possible to support the real economy both through collaboration with large companies and through direct support to the network of numerous SMEs engaged in the sector. This is a further element that makes it possible to facilitate entrepreneurial activities and the relative access to credit, in line with the strategic guidelines of the Intesa Sanpaolo group".

“The Government's initiative – they said Andrea Casini and Remo Taricani, Co-CEOS Commercial Banking Italy of UniCredit – is of absolute importance for the country as it represents an opportunity to redevelop the Italian real estate assets and to stimulate building regeneration interventions, as well as being an opportunity to be seized for a more rapid economic recovery of the country after the lockdown phase. Precisely for this reason Unicredit, also thanks to its capital solidity, has taken action to give its customers the opportunity to immediately take advantage of these benefits".
