Here is the car that flies, it's called Liberty and it costs 300 euros: video and features

Imagine no longer having to deal with city traffic every day, going where you want in no time and perhaps enjoying a beautiful view. Now know that this thought can become reality, an expensive reality, but within reach for those who can afford it thanks to the Dutch company PAL-V which has already put it on presale a flying car prototype. It's called Liberty and has a starting price: 299 thousand euros.

It is not the first time that a flying car has been talked about, already in 2000 the project of the Israeli company Urban Aeronautics could be viewed, but this time it seems to be different. The company has no doubts about the potential of this vehicle: "it is the first certified commercial flying car in history". Even aesthetically it is not bad: three wheels, on the roof a retractable rotor and on the back a propeller, characteristics that allow it, by exploiting the principle of the autogyro, to transform itself like in a film. If you need a helicopter, the car will become one in five to ten minutes. If you feel like taking a drive, it will take the same amount of time to do the reverse process.

They will be put on the market in everything 90 specimens, which will be delivered by the end of 2018. From a technical point of view, the performances are not bad. Liberty features two Rotax engines, one 100hp for the street and one 200 for the skies. It is 4 meters long and 2 meters wide. Maximum speed? 160 km/h on road (from 0 to 100 km/h in 9 seconds) e 140 km/h (reaching 180) in flight.

At take-off, with a maximum take-off weight of 910 kg, it lifts up reaching an altitude of 3.500 metres. The range is 500 km, with only the pilot on board. But be careful, anyone who wants to take flight will have to have around them a space of 100-200 meters in length and 20 in height, with no obstacles around. Of course, one will be needed flight license.

It will be possible to choose between two models: Sport (299 thousand dollars) and Pioneer Edition (499 thousand).
