FIRSTONLINE-GOWARE EBOOK – Discourses on Europe, from Altieri Spinelli to today's crisis

FIRSTONLINE-GOWARE EBOOK – While the economic crisis and the anti-euro movements assail the European Union from many quarters, Ubaldo Villani-Lubelli's ebook, with an introduction by Pier Virgilio Dastoli, collects the founding speeches of a united Europe, from “ Ventotene Manifesto” until Matteo Renzi's speech at the congress of European socialists.

FIRSTONLINE-GOWARE EBOOK – Discourses on Europe, from Altieri Spinelli to today's crisis

Europe is in grave danger: the economic crisis on the one hand and the movements against the euro on the other have gripped the greatest social and political experiment of the last century in a suffocating grip. Can Europe save itself? Yes, if he returns to Ventotene, that is, to the ideals and motivations of his origins.

This is what this collection of speeches on Europe seeks to affirm, which begins with the "Manifesto of Ventotene" and ends with the speech of Matteo Renzi at the congress of European socialists. Unpublished texts for the Italian public are also presented, such as the letter from Helmut Schmidt to Hans Tietmeyer with the significant title "The Bundesbank: no state within a state" and the speech of 29 August 2012 by Mario Draghi, ECB president: “We are ready to do whatever it takes to save the euro”. Real milestones in the construction of Europe, counterpointed by speeches by great supporters of the European cause such as Giorgio NapolitanoMartin Schulz e Francois Hollande. The reader also finds the full text of the Lisbon Treaty and the European Convention on Human Rights.

The introduction of Pier Virgilio Dastoli, president of the Italian Council of the European Movement clearly explains the intentions of this publication. An unmissable ebook for those who care about the European cause and for those who, alas, fight it.
