“Andrea Guerra has done a great job and will remain president for at least all of 2020, but the new CEO of Eataly will be my son Nicola”. The confirmation of the change of governance, in an interview with Corriere della Sera, was given directly by Oscar Farinetti, founder of Eataly, a jewel born in 2004 and which continues to grind money: "Including franchising, our scope of revenues reach 620 million euros, with a profit of around 5-10 million and a growth of 10% in the last year”, reveals Farinetti, who has decided to place the next ambitious challenge in the hands of his son Nicola: “We want to open in 100 other cities around the world”.

The changing of the guard took place without clashes, so much so that Guerra himself, protagonist of the last five years at the helm of Eataly, after a past in Luxottica, received it thus: "A path has been completed, as far as I'm concerned I'll rest a bit and then I'll evaluate new professional opportunities”. Full powers therefore a Nicola Farinetti, 35, who cut his teeth at the helm of Eataly USA, while the eldest, Francesco, 38, will take care of the Green Pea project together with his father Oscar, and the youngest, Andrea, will follow the farms. An entirely under 40 and entirely family governance, just as 60% of the capital of Eataly remains in the hands of the Farinetti family, with 20% in Tip di Tamburi and another 20% in the Miroglio family.

There will therefore be a major expansion project on Farinetti jr's shoulders, especially in America and in London, where a grand opening is expected this year. “I haven't done anything for Eataly for months – actually confessed Oscar Farinetti - . I scrapped: I go around to chat, but the management is entirely in the hands of my children who are very good”.
