Ubi earthquake: searches by the GdF, Bazoli and Pesenti also investigated

Earthquake in the house Ubi. Since this morning the Guardia di Finanza is carrying out a series of searches in the offices of some managers of the institute. As part of the investigation by the Bergamo prosecutor's office (there are two hypotheses of crime: obstacle to the supervisory functions and aggravated fraud), the financiers are searching the offices of the president of the management committee Franco Polotti, the president and vice president of the committee of supervisors, respectively Andrea Moltrasio and Mario Cera, and of the directors Victor Massiah and Italo Lucchini.

In the investigation into Ubi-Leasing (subsidiary of Ubi-Banca), the Guardia di Finanza is also searching the offices of the chairman of the supervisory board of Intesa Sanpaolo, Giovanni Bazoli, who is under investigation, and of the chairman of Italcementi Giampiero Pesenti. This was reported by the online site of Il Sole 24 Ore, specifying that the search against Giovanni Bazoli concerns his responsibility as chairman of a group of Ubi-Banca shareholders called the Associazione Banca Lombarda e Piemontese.

Meanwhile, in Piazza Affari the shares of the Bank had started up well this morning thanks to the announcement of a profit more than doubled in the first three months of the year. Furthermore, the Fitch rating agency confirmed the long-term “BBB+” ratings.

However, the news of the searches triggered the sales, and at the end of the morning the stock entered the volatility auction with a red of -3,9 percentage points, at 6,13 euros. Before the suspension, 5,2 million shares had already been traded, compared to a daily average of 9 million in the last month.
