EADS and BAE Systems towards union against Boeing

The Franco-German giant, manufacturer of Airbus, and the British aerospace giant would be in advanced talks for a merger - If the merger were to take place, a defense giant would be created that would even surpass the current number one, the American Boeing .

EADS and BAE Systems towards union against Boeing

The British, French and Germans are about to embark on the creation of a European aerospace and defense giant. The Franco-German EADS, manufacturer of Airbus, and the British Bae Systems are considering a merger. This was stated by the two companies, explaining that they are in negotiations for a possible merger.

The first rumors had already made Bae Systems' stock fly to London by more than 10% and in fact, if the two aeronautical champions were to merge, they would create a giant with a turnover of 94 billion dollars. A figure that is far from the 68,7 billion in revenues of Boeing in 2011 and the 46,5 billion of Lockheed Martin.

Even for the Italian group Finmeccanica the scenario would change. According to the former number one of Finmeccanica, Pier Francesco Guarguaglini, the company "will have to try to react in some way, either by looking at those who are also suffering a blow from this operation or by opening a conversation with them". The reference to the other companies that could undergo this merger made in the EU is certainly the French Thales, leader in defense electronics, which entered the sights of Finmeccanica at the time of Guarguaglini.
