The Japanese electronics giant has in fact announced that it has registered in the 2011-2012 fiscal year a loss of 520 billion yen (about 5 billion euros). The patron himself, Kazuo Hirai, explained it during a press conference in Tokyo. Hirai has left no room for alternatives other than to review the scope of activities and reduce fixed costs, such as the workforce.
