A new space age has begun

After the postponement of the first private flight to the International Space Station (ISS), which we reported on April 24, a new phase of the space adventure is finally about to begin: the phase in which the private initiative will join the large public space agencies in space exploration.

NASA is removed from an embarrassing situation in which, due to the withdrawal of the shuttles, the supply of the ISS was ensured essentially by Russian carriers. Now a Californian company, SpaceX, is preparing to launch its ISS refueling spacecraft on May 7, on the basis of a contract with NASA. And Space X, created by PayPal co-founder Elon Musk, makes no secret of its ambitions. The refueling capsule, called Dragon (it will contain only cargo but can also carry seven passengers), will be launched by a two-stage Falcon 9 rocket, but Space X is already working on what will be the most powerful rocket in the world, the Falcon Heavy, with Mars target.
