E.On: stew to sell Italian assets

The German giant negotiates with Erg and with the Czech Eph to dispose of two different Italian assets – Edison's offer, which aimed at the entire package, was in the background.

E.On: stew to sell Italian assets

For the sale of the Italian assets, E. Hon aim for the stew. This is what transpires from the German giant of the energy sector, which would therefore have pushed the offer received from Edison for the entire asset portfolio into the background.

In the foreground, in fact, there would be two different negotiations: one with Erg, with which the Dusseldorf company is allegedly negotiating the sale of the maxi hydroelectric plant in Terni, and one with the Czech utility eph for the gas-fired and coal-fired plants of Fiume Santo.

E.On thus aims to maximize collection in a short time. From these two sales, the group intends to raise around one billion euros, before moving on to the second phase of the break-up, negotiating on customers (for which Hera and Italtrading are in the running), on photovoltaics (F2i and Capital Stage involved) and on the 'wind (for which an offer also arrived from F2i). The total value of the various Italian assets on the market would be around 1,5 billion euros.

In the background, as mentioned, there is always the offer of Edison, which for Italian assets offers a mix of cash and shares of the newco deriving from the possible merger with E.On Italia.
