There is also something Italian in the new Azzam megayacht, which wins the podium in its category, overtaking and detaching the vessel of the Russian tycoon Abramovich.
The megayacht, released on Friday from the German shipyard Lürssen, in Bremen, can boast some concepts developed by the Milanese studio Nauta Yachts, in particular the external design of the yacht, from the waterline to the upper deck. The interiors were instead designed by the French Christophe Leoni.
The new yacht, commissioned by the Saudi prince al-Walid bin Talal, is the new ruler of the seas both in terms of size, 180 meters in length against the 162,5 of Abramovich's, and in cost, 500 million euros compared to 340 million spent by the Russian tycoon.
Among the resources available to the Azzam boat, which in Arabic means "determination", we can include an anti-missile system, a mini-submarine, two heliports, a cinema and a disco.
Last but not least, Azzam also sets a record for performance: the speed that can be reached is over 30 knots, a true technical prodigy for a very heavy ship.
