Draghi presses ministers on the PNRR and extends the obligation of outdoor masks and the stop to discos

After a long week that culminated in the re-election of President Sergio Mattarella at the Quirinal, the spotlights turn on again on Palazzo Chigi. And on the table together with the anti-Covid restrictions also the National recovery and resilience plan. Draghi wasted no time and urged all ministers to present a precise report on the progress of the works by Wednesday 2 February, in order to understand whether the June installment (the second tranche of funding) is risk or not and, if so, understand where to accelerate. After all the tensions and aftermath of the week of voting at the Quirinale, the change of pace of the Italian premier seems evident: fewer words, more actions.

In detail, the delivery of the second instalment, expiring on 30 June 2022, assumes the achievement of 45 goals and objectives for a financial and loan contribution of 24,1 billion euros. The disbursement of resources should not be taken for granted, as it is conditional on meeting a strict timetable. Therefore, the second Council of Ministers of the week will be dedicated to a precise survey of the situation relating to the main Pnrr objectives for the first half of the year.

Mask obligation outdoors and discos: what changes and since when

Two measures in one week. The political forces find themselves opening the dossier of measures related to the pandemic emergency and putting order to the issues that remain open such as the obligation to wear a mask outdoors and the closure of discos. The executive decided to extend both measures for another 10 days. During the week, other hot topics will be addressed such as the duration of the green pass for those who have done the booster, the color system, school and new rules on ra. Meanwhile, from tomorrow the new rules for the green pass and the fine for the unvaccinated over 50 The goal is to simplify the rules and start the process towards a "normalization of Italian life".

If on the one hand we are seeing an "improvement of the pandemic", on the other hand the virus continues to circulate, putting pressure on hospitals. The goal is to "normalize the lives of Italians" without, however, letting our guard down and taking steps backwards. Definitely a very different strategy from other European countries that lend themselves to reducing anti-Covid measures, such as France, the United Kingdom and Denmark.
