In the first CDM, the prime minister listed the priorities of government action to his ministers, inviting everyone to be united: "Unity is a duty".

Draghi: "Five emergencies but no jerseys"

Environment, pandemic, social cohesion, economy and school. In the first Council of Ministers, the new premier Mario Draghi, immediately after having been sworn in at the Quirinale together with his large team, reminded everyone of the five emergencies of this executive. Above all, he recalled that there shouldn't be flag fights: "Unity here is not an option, but a duty", he said. In short, the message is clear: forget the tunics, we all work together: “I know that I ask you for a sacrifice – he began – and I also know that there are different sensitivities, that some of you have alternative stories, that there are politicians and technicians. We must not allow this diversity to be a limitation, but to do so everyone has to give up something to take care of the national interest”.

The most pressing chapter remains the health one, i.e. the management of the pandemic: there will be a new plan for mass vaccination and Draghi has already promised the maximum effort: "I will do everything possible to speed up", also because the former president of the ECB is aware that this is the only way to restart the economy too. In fact, the other problem is called the economy and above all employment, with the expiry of the block on layoffs now imminent. To the ministers who listen to him, Draghi explains that it is not enough to defend the jobs we have, but to create others by going beyond the logic of subsidies. And then there is the school, on which the prime minister has already made it clear that there will be news. In short, let's go.

  1. I think it is a fair call to all political forces to put aside the opposition and
work in agreement for the common good of the country but it is necessary to identify in what technical way
to resolve the socio-economic issues that have arisen with the development of the pandemic.
