After markets and magistrates, the premier fears friendly fire

For now, Berlusconi manages to dodge the interrogation of the magistrates by going (tomorrow) to explain the maneuver in Brussels and Strasbourg. But dissent is growing in the PDL and Alfano invites those who don't believe in victory to get on the sidelines to let those who still believe in it play. Meanwhile, Fini accuses the government of having weakened national cohesion.

After markets and magistrates, the premier fears friendly fire

You can remain (or rather resist) at the helm of the government until the end of the Legislature, i.e. until 2013, pressed by the markets that ask for drastic measures for the economy, by magistrates who want clarifications on scandals that are the subject of trials, and now also from the friendly fire of his allies and even his own party? Silvio Berlusconi claims he wants to carry on and on the site of Michela Brambilla's promoters of Freedom, he explains that he and his government saved Italy with the manoeuvre. In the meantime, precisely because he wants to go and explain these things tomorrow in Brussels and Strasbourg to his European interlocutors, he evades the Neapolitan magistrates who should have listened to him (as the injured party) regarding the money he allegedly gave to Lavitola (a fugitive) and Tarantini ( detained in Poggioreale prison). Naturally the magistrates do not give up and let it be known that they will not give up listening to the prime minister. Who in turn would like to avoid interrogation, preparing an ad hoc memorial.
So far the intersection between markets and magistrates. But, right now. what worries Berlusconi is above all the friendly fire that comes from the PDL and the League. And therefore there is the risk that, after so many Marco Antonios who position themselves in view of the post-premier, some Brutus could burst onto the scene and deliver the definitive blow and cause the fall of the government. In fact, even in the center-right, the number of those demanding the premier's "step back" is growing. Yesterday was the turn of the singular convergence between the governor of Lazio Polverini and the Northern League mayor of Verona Tosi. All this after Pisanu's clear words had already been expressed in the PDL and in the League there were those who could now "take a step back" even from Umberto Bossi, whom the boatos say is worried about possible disputes at the traditional meeting of the " Po peoples” next Sunday in Venice. With friendly fire, the PDL secretary Angelino Alfano tried to raise his voice, admonishing the malpancisti to stand on the sidelines of the field to let those who still believe in victory play the game. An implicit way of acknowledging that dissent towards Berlusconi is also a problem for the centre-right.
Among the oppositions, Bersani concluded the democratic party by asking either for a government of national solidarity or for early elections. In turn, Casini has asked for a sort of armistice (with a reciprocal step backwards by the centre-right and left) to favor an executive for national salvation. And the president of the Chamber Gianfranco Fini has also returned to the field (from Mirabello), demanding a new government and a new prime minister, given that Berlusconi has weakened national cohesion and, at the same time, has invited his supporters to sign the referendum to abolish the current electoral law, the one that does not allow voters to choose their parliamentarians.
