After Guidi: Bellanova and De Vincenti on pole

The appointment of the new minister of economic development could arrive by the end of the week. In pole position the current deputy minister Teresa Bellanova, also appreciated by the Dem minority, and the undersecretary to the presidency of the Council Claudio De Vincenti – After the resignation of Guidi Renzi provisionally assumes the interim.

After the resignation presented by the now former Minister of Economic Development Federica Guidi, countersigned today also by the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, following the investigation into the Tempa Rossa oil platform in Basilicata, the first rumors about the name of the possible successor to via Veneto, whose appointment could arrive by the end of the week. In the meantime, Prime Minister Matteo Renzi holds the position ad interim.

Among the possible candidates to lead the ministry, the most quoted seems to be Teresa Bellanova, former trade unionist of the CGIL and current Deputy Minister of Economic Development, who resigned together with Guidi after the investigation into Tempa Rossa. From her, a respectable curriculum which includes the experience of undersecretary at the Ministry of Labor in the management of company crises. Both the Premier and the dem minority would like Bellanova. In addition, as a woman, she would guarantee the gender balance within the Government.  

Another worthy candidate could be Claudius DeVincenti, economist, current undersecretary to the Prime Minister, another figure capable of leading such an important ministry, but also of managing strategic projects such as the "Manifattura Italia" plan for the digital transformation of industry or the "Investment compact" decree 2".
